Coach Stores: What to Know at Landmark Flagships and Shops

Coach finished its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 directly operated stores, as reported in Tapestry’s annual report. That total breaks down into 336 stores in North America and 637 outside North America. A second figure doing the rounds, about 1,299 stores, applies to all of Tapestry’s brands as a group, not to Coach alone. Looking forward, Tapestry has reportedly indicated that around 50 net new Coach stores are in the pipeline for fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them sited beyond North America. The network takes in flagship Coach House locations, everyday full-price boutiques, concessions inside department stores and Coach Outlet stores. For that reason, a search for a coach store could bring up anything from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. Going city by city, this guide covers the best-documented locations and flags each place where a store’s current status remains to be checked.

New York and the Fifth Avenue Coach House

Founded in New York in 1941, Coach has its most famous flagship in the city of its birth. Launched in the fall of 2016, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was timed for the brand’s 75th anniversary. Designed with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield, it was reported to cover about 20,000 square feet on three floors. That said, the address is not set to be the store’s permanent base: Coach has reportedly leased about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a future Coach House. The planned move is pencilled in for 2027, and David Yurman is reported to have signed a lease for the 685 Fifth Avenue space, with an opening expected in early 2029. Because it has not been confirmed whether the current store is still open on a given day, consult Coach’s store locator before making a special trip. The locator also lists shop the collection a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, near Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.

London: Coach House on Regent Street

London’s Coach House stands at 200–206 Regent Street and launched in 2016 as a global concept store. As with the New York flagship, it was designed with Studio Sofield, giving the pair a shared look. A Craftsmanship Bar for monogramming and personalisation was reported in coverage at the time. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly take around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks with exotic skins; a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag was reported too. Some writers have reported the wrong opening year because one retail-district listing shows a much later page date. Tapestry said on its August 2026 earnings call, according to a published transcript, that the UK, plus some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has a material presence. Ahead of a visit, find out which services are currently offered if you are planning a personalisation appointment.

Tokyo and Ginza

Tokyo’s Ginza district houses Coach’s flagship in Japan. The store, refreshed in 2015, traces its origins to the first Japanese flagship, which opened there in 2002. It reopened on 19 December 2025 after a redesign by the studio CURIOSITY, according to coverage of the relaunch. Some Japanese stores reportedly are part of the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange, making Japan relevant for services as well. That scheme reportedly takes gently worn all-leather retail bags while leaving out outlet items and canvas pieces. Which Japanese stores participate was not confirmed, so check with the store before taking a bag in. Hours and services should be checked shortly before a visit, just as with every flagship in this guide.

Greater China: An Outdated Shanghai Record, Plus Hong Kong and Chongqing

Records for Coach’s large stores in Greater China are patchier than those for New York or London. A flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010, according to a record that is now out of date. It was not possible to verify its current status, so the Shanghai store should not be assumed to be open today. Coach has also been reported to have a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. Dates of opening for those two stores also went unverified. Out of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, 637 are international, yet the annual report offers no city-by-city breakdown. Travellers should rely on Coach’s local store locator rather than dated press coverage when planning a visit.

UK Boutiques and Concessions

Beyond Regent Street, Coach’s UK store locator shows full-price stores at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. Additional London locations are St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. Outside London, the documented full-price store sits at the Bullring in Birmingham. Coach also trades through concessions inside Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. Stores in Manchester, Edinburgh and other cities were not confirmed, so verify before assuming a local branch exists. For anyone searching coach uk locations, this list covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing. Coach’s UK site provides each listed store its own page, and that is the surest place to confirm hours and services.

Shopping at Coach Outlet Stores

Coach Outlet stores are part of Coach’s own network, not independent discounters, and Coach marks them as outlets in its store locator. Typically, the stores sit in outlet centres. In the United States, Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common. Verified Coach Outlet stores in the UK are at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. York Designer Outlet is less certain: a store there has been reported but not confirmed, so check ahead before travelling there. Some of the outlet stock is made for the outlet channel, but the only share figure on record, around 85%, dates from 2014, so the current mix is unknown. Alongside earlier-season styles, assortments also carry some full-price collection product under the reported “One Coach” strategy. Anyone planning a coach outlet trip should review current offers first, because promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified.

What to Expect Inside a Coach Store

Shoes, clothing and small leather goods accompany the current handbag range inside a full-price coach store, where the bags remain the primary focus. The bag families shoppers will recognise in 2026 include the Tabby (introduced in 2019), the Brooklyn (launched in August 2024) and the Empire Carryall (brought out in February 2025). Recorded US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, but these are figures seen in the market rather than an official price list. Some stores also take part in the (Re)Loved trade-in, which runs in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores. One membership spans both formats, since Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, is said to cover both Coach and Coach Outlet. Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, which makes a receipt from a Coach store valuable proof of where a coach bag came from. Creative direction comes from Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013 and who continues as Creative Director in 2026.

How to Plan a Visit

You can avoid wasted journeys with a little preparation, particularly while the New York flagship prepares to move. The best first step is Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, since it distinguishes full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations. If you plan a trade-in, check that the specific store participates and that your bag is all leather rather than canvas. For personalisation or made-to-order services, enquire beforehand whether the service is available. Do not plan around a VAT refund if you are visiting Britain, because tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended on 1 January 2021. Hold on to every receipt, because it records where a bag was bought if questions come up later. Offers change often, so review current promotions before travelling a long way to an outlet centre.

  • On the day of travel, consult the store locator.
  • Confirm that the store participates in trade-ins and that your bag is eligible.
  • Book personalisation services in advance.
  • Keep a receipt for each purchase.
